Toyota 8FGU25 Model
Modeling/Texturing/Rigging/Physics for Vehicle Simulation
The Toyata 8FGU25 Counterbalance Forklift was produced for simulation purposes for Serious labs and United Rentals. I modeled the asset using Lightwave/3dsMAX and published to the Unity Engine. As with many of SLI's vehicles we used a medium poly approach with weighted normals to allow for realistic silhouettes and CAD accurate geometry for simulation.
More so than most I was involved with the physics tuning and testing of the vehicle asset, often working closely with QA and programming to produce required effects.
To produce this effect we used procedural wear shaders with tiling and static textures produced in Substance Designer. This allowed us to place what wear and tear was needed during runtime.
